Fundation "Iavnana"

"Let’s Save the Future" – that’s the appeal, a world renowned opera singer Mr. Paata Burchuladze made in 2004 and set up the international charity "Iavnana" foundation, which, from the very beginning, has become a reliable shelter for the orphans and the children deprived of parental care. A number of charity actions-concerts have been held both in Georgia and abroad under the auspices of "Iavnana" foundation. The opera stars are all willing to take part in the charity Galas, proposed by Mr. Paata Burchuladze, with the revenue going into the aid to the children deprived of care. Owing to the Foundation, 200 children have returned home and as many have avoided going to the Children’s Homes. 36 apartments have been purchased for the vulnerable families. However, for all "Iavnana's" and its friends efforts, about 5000 children still remain in the Children's Homes, with merely 156 of them orphans. Most of the children have been placed at the Children's Homes by their destitute parents. The children’s return to their mothers and a family upbringing of the so-called "Street Children" is the paramount objective of the "Iavnana" foundation. In 2006, as the acknowledgement of his charity activities, the UN made Mr. Paata Burchuladze the Good Will Ambassador.
